Ron was born in England in 1937 and received art instruction there before coming to Australia in 1970.
Although a family man, restoring a Mines Manse and, until 1992 operating a Garden Centre, he still found time to study art and paint.
Ron has now painted in watercolour medium for 16 years. Ron's attraction to watercolour are the subtle light, mood and atmospheric effects that can be attained.
The subjects he most enjoys painting are - Australian Birds and Animals, Landscapes, Seascapes, and Old Heritage Buildings.
Ron has received various awards for his works, including a major award at the Victor Harbour Rotary Art Show and the Local Award First Place at the Kernewek Lowender Art Prize 2007.
Also Top Prize and Peoples Choice Award at Port Broughton's "Brush With Out Heritage" 2010, and a Major Prize at Victor Harbour 2011.
